Giant panda Mengmeng, one of thetriplets born five years ago at a safari parkin Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong prov-ince, has returned to her hometown in Sich-uan province for breeding, according tosources at the park.Mengmeng now weighs over 90kilograms and was included in the nationalgiant panda breeding program after beingfound in full rut in December last year.“The female giant panda is expected tobreed more babies as she has multiplebirths in her DNA,” said Li Guo, a zoologistwith the China Conservation and ResearchCenter for Giant Panda.Mengmeng, born in the Chimelong SafariPark on July 29, 2014, mated with a malegiant panda in May at the Wolong Shengsh-uping base in Sichuan province.“Mengmeng is now under further observa-tion as she has reported some pregnancyphenomena – she likes sleeping more oftenand being lazy in her movement,” said Li.
